Vanished is my first acquaintance with Joseph Finder, and I think that it was really good. Nick Heller is a likable protagonist. A fairly traditional - for voltage and detective genres - the maverick in many ways, but still interesting. Much of this book is devoted to his backstory, unp but skillfully woven into the plot.
The plot is well constructed. Certainly very American with guns, violence and corruption, but I perceive it as credible and interesting. The plot is complicated enough unp with several unexpected twists and pace makes it hard to put down book.
