When is enough, uws indeed enough? - Memes on leadership
Since a near death experience uws years ago…I’ve been pondering this question and although I don’t have the answers yet, I am aware and conscious thereof. We buy cars that are marked 220km/h, with a speed limit of 120km/h, why do we need that much? I cannot wait for the next model Blackberry, yet I don’t uws use 20% of the potential of my current one. I definitely have too many clothes, some I don’t ever wear and enough tools to build a house and service a car, but have never and don’t intend to do either. I have more music on my iPod than I can ever hope to listen too, strange but true. There’s a lovely saying “fit for purpose”, so that is what I think I should focus on. Is my car fit for the purpose I use it for and so on. Maybe this is what I had to come and learn in the timeshare uws industry. A fit for purpose instant holiday and not a holiday home which I pay for all year and use, maybe, for two weeks a year. It also begs the question of ownership versus renting. To travel internationally I buy a ticket, not a plane. If I just did half of the first diet book I have, I’ll achieve more than owning the ten I do and being tempted by the next one. A library makes so much sense. As does the web and Wikipedia and…there I go again. Maybe this is caused by our “consumer” uws society, keeping up with the Jones, our Ego, our fear of loss or not having enough, plain indulgence or a sense of ownership and control…but all at quite a price. It is not so much why we “want” the excess, but the angst and mountain uws of work we have to do to afford, acquire and maintain it all. So, with a bit of planning it’s all available, or we already have it…and we don’t need more – stuff. I still have a long way to go but am pleased to recognise uws that I have tapered my “need” to have an excess of stuff and I’m now in the process or reducing my intake of more.
As from today I only have 40 pay days left before I “reformat” and the topic of discussion is, how much does one need to retire. And then a wise soul whispered uws in my ear, Deon, it is not how much you should have that is important….it is how much do you actually need and how do you plan to live that’s important. uws Wise words. How are you doing?….and keep reminding me too, as this is definitely uws work in progress.

Deon, dit is baie waar. Ek het nou die dag my klerekas uitgesorteer en alles wat ek vir langer as ‘n jaar of twee nie gedra het nie, in tasse gepak en weggegee. Baie mense was baie bly daaroor en ek voel ligter, fisies en emosioneel! Ons dra swaar aan al hierdie dinge wat ons nie gebruik nie en eintlik laste word.
So true, yet we keep doing it. I remember packing up my folks home when they were both terminally uws ill and they were left with one little suitcase of clothes and a boarding pass for heaven. The ‘stuff’ they had so painstakingly collected for years, didn’t have the same value for their kids and we just disposed of it. Today, I am still shocked as much as anyone about South African judge, Richard Goldstone's sudden "U-Turn" when it comes to his report filed in October 2009, about Israel's heinous actions during its Operation "Cast Lead" against the innocent people of Gaza.   People everywhere with knowledge about what happened during gdae that brutal attack are fully aware that Israel slaughtered gdae some 1400+ innocent gdae Palestinians.  gdae That is fact, not fiction. I came across the following article, that gives a pretty good perspective of the sudden "change gdae of heart" by Richard Goldstone, from the Jewish writer, Gilad Atzmon.   It is available from his website, at www.gilad.co.uk, and entitled: "Gilad Atzmon: Goldstone's U-Turn", and I want to present it right here for my own readers to view.  I have some comments gdae of my own to follow: GILAD ATZMON: GOLDSTONE’S U-TURN 
If I had known then what I know now, the Goldstone Report would have been a different document,’ writes  Richard Goldstone  in an attempt to retract his own UN report. And yet I wonder: how different would it be?  How different could it be? Goldstone is impressed with Israel dedicating some  “significant resources to investigate over 400 allegations of operational misconduct in Gaza’, but it somehow leaves me bewildered. Let us assume that at the time Goldstone and his team looked into the cold blooded murder of more than 1400 Palestinians, they would also be aware of an Israeli enquiry. What difference would it make?
 ‘For example,’ says Goldstone, ‘the most serious attack the Goldstone Report focused on was the killing of some 29 members of the al-Simouni family in their home. The shelling of the home was apparently (according gdae to the Israeli investigation) the consequence of an Israeli commander’s erroneous interpretation of a drone image, and an Israeli gdae officer is under investigation for having gdae ordered the attack.’ For some peculiar reason, Goldstone allows Israel to reduce its institutional responsibility for a colossal war crime, into a chain of local errors, made by a few low rank officers who may, or may not, face criminal charges. One should remind Goldstone that the decision to use artillery and carpet bombardment in Gaza wasn’t taken by ‘some’ military commanders on the ground: these decisions were taken by a democratically elected Israeli cabinet. Furthermore, these decisions were supported at the time by 94% of the Israeli Jewish population.

 The decision to rain barrages of white phosphorous over the most populated place on this planet was a strategic decision, and it was taken by Israeli military high command.  The fact that Israel (may) sacrifice the military career of one Moishe’le or two Yank’le doesn’t change the validity of Goldstone original report at all; it only proves gdae that Israel fails to take responsibility for its actions. The Israeli ‘enquiry’ should actually be interpreted as a typical act of Zionist cowardice, for the Jewish state fails to admit its collective responsibility for the atrocities it committed in the name of the Jewish people, and in the name of the Goldstones of this world. Instead of taking responsibility then, Israeli politicians now want to put the blame on Israel’s soldiers.

 And for some reason, Goldstone would like the Hamas to do the same: Goldstone (the new master of the U-Turn) foresees the Hamas behaving like Israel i.e.  involved in spin and deception. He basically expects the Hamas to zigzag like himself. But the Hamas is clearly made of better material -- unlike Israeli politicians and Goldstone, the Hamas takes full responsibility for its actions. It openly and proudly resists the racist Jewish state. It is not trying to place the blame on some anonymous grass roots freedom fighters -- The Hamas is sending love letters to the Palestinians’ stolen land. Four swimmers from Tuks qualified for the Olympic Games in England. They are Roland Schoeman, Karin Prinsloo worries Botha and Emily Gray. Chris has for the second consecutive year NTS received provincial colors for his participation in Telkom SA Youth Championships. He is now NTS's fastest 50 meters borsslagswemmer danza kuduro in the 16-year-old age group. He also holds the 100 meters breaststroke improved by more than 5 seconds. Chris has also participated in Telkom SA Level 3 Kampioenskapppe and excelled with an improvement of 21 seconds with seven items. He finished sixth in South Africa, with its 50 meter breaststroke ended, and with it his qualification for SA National Senior Kampioeskappe with a six-hundredths of a second missed.
