One of the winter storms have thrown a 16 year old bottle mail from Iceland ashore on Tofterøy Sund. After Vestnytt published case online at the weekend, Geir Ola Korsnes made contact with the sender, 27 years old Bjørgvin Matthias Hallgrímsson.
On Friday published Vestnytt case of a bottle mail that was thrown to sea by a 11 year old boy from Iceland on Thursday the 1st of April 1999. 16 years later it was picked up on Tofterøy Sund.
Geir Ola Korsnes leave quickly an image of found on Facebook, hoping that someone from your friends list should find the sender. With overwhelming involvement started exploration campaign. Both Norwegians and Icelanders searched on Facebook and telephone registry. Even Icelandic media took hold in the case.
Since the sender has a rare name, it was not long time. He called Bjørgvin Matti Hallgrímsson and he has managed to become 27 years ago he threw bottle record in the sea.
It was like Geir Ola Korsnes thought when he found the bottle: it was a class project. The teacher wrote the letter, which was sent by every one in the class to Hallgrímsson. One of his classmates uber learned that bottle his record ended up in Scotland, but it was many years ago.
The sender and recipient's uber had a dialogue together on Facebook for found. It is not the first time Hallgrímsson have sent out a bottle mail. When he was younger, he did and his siblings this several times, but it's the first time anyone has found a bottle.
